New York City

A couple of weeks ago Jordan had to go to New York for work and I got to tag along! I have always wanted to go there and I am so glad I did. It was so surreal to see things I've only seen on tv and movies so many times. There is so much to do there and we definitely didn't have time to cover a lot of it, but we managed to fit in quite a bit in a few short days. It was so fun, and at the same time made me really appreciate the convenience of not living in a big city. It was a great trip and I hope to go back there again someday.

Here is some of what we did: Walked through Times Square a few times, I went on at tour of the NBC Studios by myself while Jordan worked. We went and saw "Dear Evan Hansen" on Broadway. Went to the Guggenheim, and The MET (twice). Visited Rockefellar Center and the Top of the Rock. Went to FAO Schwartz, and the Nintendo store (for Nixon). Saw the grave of Alexander Hamilton, Went to the 9-11 Memorial Museum. Took a pic in front of where John Lennon was killed (also for Nixon). Stopped in for a short visit at the "Natural History Museum", walked through Central Park, and got frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity. We also took bus tours through Uptown, Downtown, and Brooklyn at night....and did tons and tons of walking.

Nixons 9th Birthday

We celebrated Nixons birthday over a few days this year. First with dinner and cake and ice cream with the Cosgroves. Next, a couple of days later on his actual birthday we had presents and donuts in the morning, checked him out of school to take him to lunch, and then went out again to dinner. We ended the night with his choice activity: playing video games together as a family, and some dessert before bed. He wasn't supposed to be having a birthday party with friends this year, but a couple of days after his bday he got to have a few close friends over for a "late night" with pizza and a movie. Nixon is a great kid and prefers the simple things like a night at home over a big night out and I think that is just one more thing to love about him!
