The first day we were there we went to Balboa so that the kids could see the ocean and we could enjoy the beach a little bit. It was a really fun place to visit, but I'm afraid the kids are going to remember it as "the time we tried to drown them in the ocean." The waves were really big that day and we thought we had picked a good spot to feel the water, but not get too wet...we were wrong! One big wave came it and nearly took us all down. Boston got the worst of it, she was totally soaked, and most of our shoes got washed away (we did get them back). It was pretty dramatic, and the kids were not happy! After buying Boston a dry sundress and the rest of us air drying they were able to forgive us, and we had a really nice afternoon exploring the place.
Before the wave....
...and after!
As always our three days at Disneyland were so much fun!
I was so proud of Nixon and his willingness (after a lot of pep talks) to at least try most of the rides. He has never really liked going on rides and for the most part he was really good about it. He kept saying "I'm not gonna cry my pants." I told Jordan that "our little boy had grown up" in the few days we were there. He was also absolutely smitten with all of the characters and he would say the cutest things to them like "I've missed you so much"! I had so much fun watching him interact with them.
Boston had a fantastic time, she especially loved that she was tall enough to go on "Indiana Jones"this time and can't wait until she's tall enough for "California Screamin". She is so mature and adventurous and she loves to try new things. She was so patient and loving with her little brother and she helped make those longer waits so much more enjoyable. She is so much fun to be with.
