Grandma Janet

My sweet, wonderful grandma passed away on August 10. Grandma was one of my best friends and favorite people on this earth. She was such a big part of my life and I have countless wonderful memories of her. I am going to miss her so much, but I’m so glad she is with my grandpa again. I was lucky enough to be able to spend a couple nights with her before she passed (Boston came one night too) and it was special to have that time with her. I am so grateful for all the many things she has done for me and taught me. I love you grandma!

My grandmas best friend Carolyn Dunn (also my bff Charise’s grandma) also passed away unexpectedly just a few days before my grandma. We are so sad Carolyn is no longer with us too, but we think it’s so neat that her and grandma were able to go at almost the same time. I’m sure they are having a fantastic party without us :)

Back to School Dates

We love our tradition of taking the kids on “back to school” dates before school starts up again each year. This year was a lot harder than normal for me to start them because it meant that I had to admit that summer was nearly over. It had gone by so fast! But we had a lot of fun spending some one on one time with the kids. Boston and I did a little shopping and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Nixon and Jordan went to a Young the Giant concert, and Finn and I went to see “The Haunted Mansion” and went to lunch (he even invited Nixon to eat with us).

July

Most of July has already been covered between the Fourth of July and our trip back east, but we did try and fill the rest of the month with fun too. Jordan and Finn did some treasure hunting, we went to Lagoon with Curtis and his family, Boston went to trek, Finn had a funeral for his whoopie cushion (what?)and so much more. This is the stuff I haven’t posted about from July:
